The Aspiration
To Aid Space Exploration and Commercialization with Innovative Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology.
Our vision is to ultimately create low gravity metal additive manufacturing (AM) systems, which are critical for extended voyages and future habitation of the solar system and beyond!
In the near term, our goal on Earth is to research, develop, and commercialize an innovative metal AM system, which is light years ahead of our competition. This will also address the increasing demand for small batch, high quality metal AM production.
The Challenge
To Provide Higher Strength, Resolution, and Quality Metal Additive Manufacturing Systems all at Lower Cost!
While that sounds too good to be true, our innovative approach fundamentally disrupts existing AM technology. At the moment, this high-impact AM innovation is currently unproven yet is theoretically possible. Low gravity operation is innately built into this AM process, as such Earth based commercialization will open up huge existing markets for growth and refinement.
Existing AM technology continues to struggle with ultimate yield strength and fatigue strength due to impurities and dislocations in the crystal growth. Our AM Process improves the nucleation and growth of metal crystals resulting in smaller and less porous grains, which results in higher strength, crack resistance, and a smoother finish.
